Former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn is expected to be hired as the Detroit Lions' new offensive coordinator, according to multiple media reports.

With Lynn leading the Lions offense, Detroit will now have someone who can bring their run game up to speed. Young stars like D’Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson is expected to continue to trend upward towards stardom under the experienced guidance of Lynn–with or without Matthew Strafford.

The Lions weren’t the only team interested in acquiring Lynn. According to reports, the Seattle Seahawks were also in the running to land Lynn’s services.

There were plenty of questions regarding the Lions’ coaching staff and front office based on their level of experience, but Lynn will certainly bring a calming and stabilizing force to Dan Campbell, who has never been a coordinator in the league.

Lynn replaces Darrell Bevell, who is expected to become the Jaguars' next offensive coordinator, according to reports. The Lions also announced the hiring of Aaron Glenn, a former NFL defensive back and the New Orleans Saints' secondary coach, as defensive coordinator.
