The Detroit Lions have added Geronimo Allison to their wide receiver group.

As reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Lions have agreed to terms with the former Green Bay Packers receiver.

As Ian Rapoport of NFL Network details, this is a one-year deal with a base salary of $910,000 for the 2020 season. The deal includes a $137,500 signing bonus.

“The #Lions agreed to terms with former #Packers WR Geronimo Allison, and he’ll get a 1-year deal for $910K and a $137.5K signing bonus — the max for the veteran minimum.”

The 26-year-old receiver has spent all four of his seasons with the Packers. The University of Illinois product posted 34 receptions for 287 yards and two touchdowns last season. Allison started a career-high six games and posted a career-high in receptions last season.

During his four seasons in Green Bay, Allison posted 89 receptions for 1,045 yards and six touchdowns.

With all of this said, Allison is likely best slotted as a No. 4 receiver. That is the precise role he served in Green Bay. Receivers such as Davante Adams, Allen Lazard and Marques Valdes-Scantling were all ahead of him on the depth chart.

The Lions already have veteran receivers in Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola on the roster. Golladay and Jones will return as the starters with Amendola serving in the slot position. That would mean in a best-case scenario, Allison will once again be the No. 4 receiver.
