Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams has made an interesting comment about his former team Green Bay Packers.

Williams is currently in his debut season with the Lions after the Packers opted not to re-sign him this offseason. Detroit will face Green Bay on Monday night and the running did not hold back on revealing his thoughts about his former team.

According to Williams, he’s moved on already from the Packers despite the team not wanting him on their roster like a bitter “ex-girlfriend.”

“They didn’t want me like that ex-girlfriend, I got to go,” Williams jokingly said of the Packers in a recent press conference.

The 26-year-old further admitted that he’s thankful for quickly finding a new lease on life with the Lions, whom he wittily referred to as his “rebound.”

“Good thing I got a rebound. It was the [Detroit] Lions,” he continued. “They picked me up, you know what I mean. Now they feeding me good. Taking me to dinners, you know what I mean. Another man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

“I’m just having fun, man. It’s part of life. You know, you’re going to have those type of rejections,” he added. “You’re going to get turned down. You’re going to get, you know, people ain’t going to want you, but when you get your shot and opportunity again from somebody who will give you your shot, you know you just got to take that opportunity, be grateful for it and make it count.”

During his four-year stint with the Packers, Williams ran for 1,985 yards and 10 touchdowns on 500 carries. He also had 122 receptions for 961 yards and eight touchdowns.
