Detroit Lions Pro Bowl wide receiver Kenny Golladay has been dealing with a hamstring issue recently. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports a status update on Golladay for the Week 1 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

Golladay was selected back in 2017 in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. Since then, he has been a major impact player at his position.

The wide receiver racked up 70 receptions for 1,063 yards and five touchdowns in 2018. He followed that up with 65 receptions for 1,190 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2019.

Most impressively, Golladay did that despite not having superstar quarterback Matthew Stafford available to him for half the season last year. Now 2020 is set to be the biggest year yet for the wide receiver. Could it be starting on a sour note though?

The Lions have a very exciting offense, but they are also going up against an elite-level defense in Chicago, so they will need all the firepower they can get. Not having Golladay could be a very serious blow to their prospects.

Yes, they still have Marvin Jones, Danny Amendola, T.J. Hockenson, D'Andre Swift, Kerryon Johnson, Adrian Peterson and of course Stafford. All of those players should help still make this an exciting game.

Golladay was the home run hitter though. The brightest star on the offense. “Doubtful” is not a positive status. Hopefully he can heal up before Week 1 and we can see that changed to active.

But for now, the Lions are probably planning to play Week 1 without him.

As for fantasy football players, it is best to take Golladay out of your lineup right now. It is smarter to have him out and monitor the situation. If he is healthy put him back in, but don't risk waiting and missing the opportunity to take him out.

Hopefully Golladay will be ready for Week 1, but that is looking unlikely. So it's time to look towards Week 2 when talking about the receiver, and hoping he gets healthy enough to rejoin the team then.
