Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay is coming off of a very impressive 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 70 receptions for 1,063 yards and five touchdowns, and he feels that he is just getting started as he enters his third NFL season:

“It’s just the beginning, I feel like,” Golladay said, according to Dave Birkett of The Detroit Free Press. “I’m still growing as a receiver. I’m only coming into my third year. I’m still young in the game and I understand that and the coaches, they remind me of that all the time. I don’t ever want to get a big head, so if it’s out there taking extra reps or staying after practice and doing extra I’m all for it.”

Golladay, who played his collegiate football at Northern Illinois, was originally selected by the Lions in the third round (96th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played in 11 games during his rookie year, catching 28 passes for 477 yards and three scores, but after his massive improvement in 2018, Golladay feels it could only be a matter of time before he is up there with the best wide outs in the league, but his main goal is making sure the Lions are in good shape:

“I for sure, like any receiver would say, I can be a 100-catch guy,” Golladay said. “But I’m not just going to demand the ball every play just so I can get 100 catches. I’m going to do whatever I need to do to help the team.”

Detroit certainly needs all the help it can get.

The Lions won just six games in 2018 and have made just three playoff appearances since 2000. Going back even further, Detroit has not won a postseason game since the 1990-91 campaign.
