With the 2019 NFL season just around the corner, Fantasy Football owners are doing their due diligence on which players are primed for a breakout. It seems former NFL legend Chad Johnson has high expectations for Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay.

Johnson was recently asked on social media which player he feels is poised for a career year. He put it rather plainly by stating Golladay's name, via Twitter.

This is certainly some high praise coming from Johnson, especially considering he has never been one to share it so willingly. Regardless, it is clear that Golladay has made quite the impression on the former legendary wideout.

There is good reason for Johnson to be optimistic about the young Lions' star this season. Golladay had shown plenty of promise as a future No. 1 option after Detroit had taken him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He managed to solidify that notion by finishing the 2018 campaign with 70 receptions for 1,063 yards and five touchdowns.

His emergence was largely the reason the Lions felt so comfortable parting ways with quarterback Matthew Stafford's favorite target in wide receiver Golden Tate during the season. While Tate's departure continues to leave a notable void in Detroit's receiving corps, it did confirm their hunch that Golladay was capable of handling an increased workload.

The expectations for the third-year wideout have undoubtedly been raised now that Johnson has given him his stamp of approval. Golladay could also prove to be a decent sleeper option for fantasy owners looking for some bang for their buck at wide receiver.
