Veteran running back LeGarrette Blount will reportedly visit with the Detroit Lions on Friday, according to famed ESPN reporter Adam Schefter.
Schefter relayed this information on the mean streets of Twitter.
Eagles’ free-agent RB LeGarrette Blount will be the last of four free-agent RBs this week to visit Detroit, where he will be Friday. Lions’ HC Matt Patricia is a Blount admirer.

Blount led the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 18 with the New England Patriots during the 2016 season. Last season, however, the talented back had to share his workload a bit more than usual while toting the rock for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Philadelphia is expected to move forward with Jay Ajayi and Corey Clement as two of the team's main backs. Donnnel Pumphrey and Wendell Smallwood should also compete for roster spots. Basically, the Eagles are riddled with depth at the running back position and should still be fine if they decide to move on from the veteran running back.
As for Blount, he still has some gas left in the tank, but now that he's on the wrong side of 30, it will be interesting to see what type of money he can demand on the open market. Although, new Lions head coach Matt Patricia knows all about Blount from their time together in New England and may want to bring his hard-nosed running style over to Detroit.
It was earlier reported that the Lions are close to signing veteran running back Frank Gore to a deal. While the signing of Gore wouldn't inherently rule out Blount, it would seem weird for the franchise to sign two players at the same position who are in the twilight of their careers.
