The Detroit Lions were able to pull off a last-minute win against the Atlanta Falcons thanks to some late-game heroics, one in particular being a PAT by kicker Matt Prater that sealed the win. To much-deserved credit for Prater, the 48-yard extra point ties that of Travis Coon back in 2015, though Coon's efforts, unlike Prater's, resulted in a loss.

The Lions were about to pull together a late-game rally with literal seconds remaining in the fourth quarter following a touchdown by the Falcons. After quickly advancing downfield, Matthew Stafford was able to escape the rush and drill a touchdown pass to T.J. Hockenson, his only of the contest. Hockenson also completed five of his six targets for 59 yards, averaging 11.8 yards per reception.

Stafford was able to complete 25 of 36 passes for 340 yards along with along with  his one critical touchdown. He briefly contributed to the rushing game as well, as he rushed once for eight yards. Prater was able to successfully convert three of his four field goal attempts, contributing 11 points to the Lions.

The Falcons will have to look once more for their second win of the season after dropping the ball late in the fourth with seconds left on the clock. After winning against one of the lesser-talented squads in the Minnesota Vikings, the Falcons were looking to secure another win after the recent firing of former head coach Dan Quinn.

With the win, the Lions improve to 3-3 and maintain their seeding in the NFC North division. They'll have another chance to improve once more to 4-3 against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.
