After being deemed questionable to play due to a rib injury, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is now expected to suit up for their Week 15 tilt against the Tennessee Titans, per NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport.

The former Georgia standout sustained the injury late in the Lions' Week 14 encounter against the Green Bay Packers. The veteran was hit from behind by an opposing defensive player near the goal line in the fourth quarter.

Stafford recorded 244 passing yards on 24/34 passes completed and a touchdown before ultimately heading to the sidelines. Backup quarterback Chase Daniel was put on the field and had tallies of 29 yards on a 3-of-6 passing clip under center.

The Lions failed to mount any form of a comeback in crunch time especially with their best quarterback not being on the field to finish the game. The Packers managed to hold their ground and run away with a 31-24 victory to improve to a 10-3 tally while the Lions dropped to a 5-8 record.

Stafford isn't the only one dealing with bumps and bruises. Other pieces of the Lions offense continue to nurse their own injuries heading to the latter stages of the season. Wide receiver Kenny Golladay continues to miss time due to a strained hip flexor muscle while center Frank Ragnow will not suit up against the Titans due to a fractured throat.

Stafford's unexpected return for Week 15 comes as a surprise to many with the Lions already out of contention for a playoff spot. However, the former Pro Bowler may want to end the team's 2020 season on a respectable note and finish their remaining games with victories.

The Lions will aim to pull off an upset with Matthew Stafford back at the helm and delay the Titans from winning the AFC South divisional title in Week 15.
