Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford's back is healthy and he is ready to get back onto the field. Talking to reporters through Zoom, Stafford said he is feeling great, even though moving around can be a bit hard for someone his age.

“I feel great. I’m moving around as good as this slow dude can move around,” Stafford said on the teleconference with a laugh.

Stafford is 32 years old, which for some NFL players is getting old, but for a quarterback that usually is just in the middle of their prime. Stafford's 2019 season was shutdown early by a back injury but he looks to be good to for the 2020 season.

Stafford also said that he isn't affected at all by the trade rumors that swirled this offseason. There were some rumors the team could move on from him, and maybe select a different quarterback with the third overall pick, but that never happened.

“I really don't pay too much attention to 'em,” Stafford said of trade rumors involving him, via ESPN. “I pay less attention to them than my wife does. But it's something that doesn't bother me. I'm here. I want to be here. I love being a Detroit Lion. I love leading this team.

“So all that kind of stuff is just kind of out there to be out there. It's a slow news month at that point, and I'm just happy to be where I am and ready to deal with this offseason the way it is and try to make the best of the season that I hope happens.”

The hope is this is the year Stafford will lead the Lions to come playoff success. If he doesn't maybe there would be some changes after the season.
