Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is now better than former Dallas Cowboys gunslinger Tony Romo.

Hold your horses, Cowboys fans. This is only in terms of a statistical measurement. Then again, numbers never lie.

With an 11-yard pass to TJ Jones in the third quarter on Saturday, Matthew Stafford surpassed Tony Romo and moved into 31st place in career passing yards.

By way of ESPN, here are some incredible “firsts” accomplished by Big Bad Matthew Stafford:

Stafford entered the day with 33,986 yards. In the first quarter, he became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 34,000 yards before the age of 30. Stafford completed 25 of 33 passes for 237 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 20-10 win over Chicago. He now has 34,223 passing yards in his career. He also completed better than 75 percent of his passes for the third straight game.

Listen, depending on how you feel about Tony Romo will likely sway what the numbers mean to you. To be honest, I think Romo was actually underrated as a quarterback, and someone who often got too criticized simply because of some lazy narratives pushed by a few media members.

Anyway, neither of the gunslingers have a Super Bowl ring. Maybe the numbers don't even matter all that much.
