The Detroit Lions were hoping to get back into the win column amidst their two-game losing streak. Unfortunately, their showdown with the Baltimore Ravens ended in disaster after being blown out 44-20.

Even more concerning is the uncertain status of quarterback Matthew Stafford, who left the game early with an injury to his throwing hand, according to Andrew Issac of Uproxx:

Although the severity of Stafford's injury is still unknown, it clearly got a little banged up judging by the picture. Unfortunately, his injury only leaves further uncertainty regarding the Lions' remaining season.

Prior to leaving the game early, Stafford was extremely efficient on the day after completing 24-of-29 passes for 292 yards and a touchdown. However, he had trouble taking care of the ball under the duress of the Ravens' hounding pass rush after throwing a pick and fumbling the ball twice.

It will be interesting to see which course of action the Lions choose to take for the remainder of the year now that their playoff hopes have seemingly gone down the drain. Aside from the disappointing season, Matthew Stafford made some tremendous progress in terms of taking care of the ball.

The ninth-year gunslinger has thrown for 21 touchdowns and just six interceptions thus far. The only time Stafford finished a season with single-digit interceptions was back in 2010 when he only played three games while repairing an AC joint in his throwing shoulder.
