The Stafford family has been going through a very tough time. Kelly Stafford, the wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor last month. She underwent surgery, and fortunately, it was successful.

She's been recovering ever since and has been documenting her progress on her Instagram page. The Lions told Stafford to take as much time off as he needed, but fortunately, he was able to return to the team's offseason activities as Kelly's recovery has been going well.

During a recent interview with Mitch Albom of WJR 760, the quarterback provided an update and expressed his gratitude for all the well-wishes the family has received.

“She’s doing good,” Stafford said. “I think she’s kind of right where the doctors want her to be at this point of her recovery. We appreciated everybody’s well wishes, thoughts, prayers, all that. People have been really supportive and I know she and I really appreciate it.”

Stafford also talked about what a relief it was to be able to get back on the field now that everything with Kelly is progressing smoothly.

“Yeah, no doubt. It’s good to be back working with the guys. We got a bunch of new teammates. We got a bunch of really good players through free agency and then some young guys that we just picked up in the draft that are trying to make a name for themselves. So, every year is a different year and a new team and a bunch of new guys to try to get to know and try to be as good as we possibly can. That’s part of what makes this game so fun.”

Of course, Kelly's health is far more important than football. Here's to hoping that everything continues going according to plan in her recovery.
