Matthew Stafford has contributed asinine numbers in his career with the Detroit Lions, but there's one surprising statistic he hasn't recorded yet. Ahead of Detroit's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, it was revealed that Stafford has never thrown a touchdown versus the Jaguars.

Altogether, in his 12 seasons with the Lions so far, Stafford has accumulated 42,042 passing yards and 264 passing touchdowns. In just his third season in the NFL, Stafford compiled 5,038 passing yards and 41 passing touchdowns for the Lions.

However, throughout his career in the NFL, Stafford has faced the Jaguars just twice. Furthermore, Jacksonville is one of eight teams that Stafford has gone up against only twice in his career.

Lions, Matthew Stafford

While posting a 2-0 record versus Jacksonville, he's completed 69.7 percent of his passes for 563 yards. Despite his success through the air against the Jaguars, he's posted zero touchdowns and zero interceptions when playing them.

Coming off of their bye week, the Lions hold a 1-3 record and are in second-to-last place in the NFC North. Stafford himself has been playing well, throwing for 1,017 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions in Detroit's first four games.

On the other hand, the Jaguars are 1-4 and sit at the bottom of the AFC South. Though, similar to the Lions, Jacksonville's quarterback — Gardner Minshew — has been one of the few bright spots on the team.

The battle between the Lions and Jaguars is shaping up to have a ton of offense and could end up being a shootout. Given that, Stafford should easily be able to tally his first passing touchdown versus Jacksonville in Week 6.
