Former NFL great Peyton Manning has put together some wise words of advice for Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford ahead of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

The Lions will try to build off their Week 14 win over the Arizona Cardinals when they head to Buffalo to take on a stout Bills defense, and there's no doubt that Stafford will need to be efficient in order for Detroit to pick up the victory.

But perhaps now he'll have a chance to be even better when he takes the field for that game, especially since he got some recent advice from Manning that could help him take his game to another level.

In one of his most recent NFL YouTube videos where he dissects the play of different quarterbacks, Manning turned his attention to Stafford.

And here's what he had to say, courtesy of Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk:

“As a quarterback, believe it or not, we need to use our eyes to look off defensive linemen and pass rushers,” Manning said. “Don’t stare at the receiver because then the pass rushers know where you’re going to go. So look off. Even though if you know you’re gonna throw it out there to the right and to the flat, look left to start, or look down the middle. Don’t let those defensive linemen know where you’re going.”

Taking this advice would likely help Stafford and the Lions get back to their winning ways after what's been a trying first season for head coach Matt Patricia.

The Lions are 5-8 on the season and will hope to grab another win when they take on the Bills.
