Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson is recovering well from the concussion he suffered almost two weeks ago against the Kansas City Chiefs and signs are pointing towards him being able to play on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers.

Lions coach Matt Patricia gave an update about Hockenson on Friday and said that he has been a full participant in practice.

On Saturday, he will be checked by an independent doctor who will need to give him an all-clear to play. If that doctor doesn't clear him because he is still displaying concussion symptoms, he won't be able to play.

When Patricia was asked if he anticipates him playing, he said he is going to leave that up to the doctors.

“We’ll just keep pushing forward with all that. We’re take it day by day. It’s so unpredictable, I’d say, with those situations. That’s why it’s hard to comment on them really. I let the doctors handle those situations up there.”

Hockenson got off to a fast start to the season, but he has really slowed down. He opened up the season against the Arizona Cardinals hauling in 131 receiving yards, but since that point, he has only caught five passes for 35 yards and one touchdown.

The Lions are going to have their hands full against the Packers, especially on the road, and not having Hockenson would be a big blow. The good news for the Lions is all signs right now point towards him being cleared and he should play a big role.
