It is no secret that current Detroit Lions defensive tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison has become one of the more dominant run-stoppers in the entire NFL. Now a veteran of the game, it appears as though the rest of the league continues to use Harrison as an example when it comes to clogging up the middle and stopping the run.

“I’ve been following him for a while now because of just who he is in the league and his reputation,” said fellow Lions defensive lineman Mitchell Loewen, a player that Detroit originally claimed off waivers just before Week 17 last season, via Chris Burke of The Athletic. “He is the run-stopping D-tackle that a lot of guys study. I’m excited for him to be here and learn from him.”

The 30-year-old Harrison originally broke into the professional ranks of the NFL back in 2013-14 as a member of the New York Jets. Spending the first three seasons of his NFL playing career in East Rutherford with “Gang Green, ” Harrison then switched locker rooms at MetLife Stadium en route to joining the cross-stadium rival New York Giants. After just over two seasons with the Giants, “Snacks” was then traded to the aforementioned Lions while he will now begin to gear up for his first full go-round in Detroit in 2019-20.

Of course, Harrison and the Lions will be forced to deal with the always dangerous Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North division. Not only that, but the surging Chicago Bears will be back once again in 2019-20 after surprisingly winning the NFC North division a season ago.
