The Detroit Lions have widely been viewed as one of the worst franchises in the NFL for the last couple of decades, and you can understand why.

They have made the postseason just three times since the turn of the 21st century and going back even further; the Lions have not won a playoff game since the 1991-92 campaign.

To make matters worse, Detroit has been criticized by several of its now-former players this offseason, including cornerback Darius Slay and defensive lineman Damon Harrison.

But fellow defensive lineman Trey Flowers doesn't see it as too big of a deal:

“That's just how business goes,” Flowers said of the jabs from his former teammates, according to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com. “Some people agree, some people don't.”

Slay had harsh words for Lions head coach Matt Patricia in particular, saying he lost all respect for Patricia.

Detroit went just 3-12-1 this past season after a rather impressive 2-0-1 start. To be fair, the Lions were riddled with injuries up and down the roster. As a matter of fact, Matthew Stafford missed the entire second half of the year with a back injury.

However, based on Detroit's track record, people aren't going to use injuries as an excuse for the Lions' lack of success in 2019.

One thing is for sure: Patricia may be running out of chances in the Motor City. He has gone just 9-22-1 over his first couple of seasons at the helm, and Detroit's patience for the former New England Patriots defensive coordinator may be running thin.
