The Detroit Lions are gearing up for an active offseason and are beginning to make some roster moves. According to Peter Schrager of Fox Sports, wide receiver Danny Amendola is re-signing with Detroit.

Last offseason, Amendola signed a one-year deal worth up to $5.75 million to join the Lions. In his first season with the team, Amendola corraled 62 receptions for 678 yards and one touchdown. The 62 receptions were the most in Amendola's career since his 2015 season with the New England Patriots.

Despite having three different quarterbacks in 2019, Amendola proved that he can still be a reliable receiver in an offense. Therefore, the Lions are making sure to keep him around for another season by signing him to another one-year deal.

As of this moment, it remains to be seen what the specifics are on Amendola's new contract. Regardless, Amendola is no longer going to be an option for teams that wanted to target him in free agency.

Of course, Amendola has a connection with Matt Patricia as both spent time together in New England. Given that, Amendola knows that he isn't going to find many teams that can provide him with familiarity in the building.

Even though Amendola got a deal before free agency, he might not be the only Lions wide receiver to receive a new contract this year. Next season, both Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones are heading into the final years of their contracts.

Seeing that Golladay is still on his rookie deal and his performance has exceeded expectations, he's next on Detroit's priority list. At the least, the Lions made sure to keep their receiving corps intact by retaining Amendola for the 2020 season.
