The Green Bay Packers managed to secure the victory over the Detroit Lions in controversial fashion to cap off Week 6. However, it is a result that could have been drastically changed had it not been for a number of questionable calls against Detroit.

In this case, it was a no-call on wide receiver Marvin Jones by safety Will Redmond during the fourth quarter that continued to raise eyebrows. Photo evidence proves that Redmond had made contact with Jones while the ball was still in the air, via Twitter:

Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy also provided his thoughts on why the Lions opted not to challenge the call.

It is safe to say that Dungy is not alone in this assessment. The performance from the officiating crew stirred up quite the reaction from notable figures around the league. It is safe to say that they will continue to be under fire until some drastic changes are made.

Although the no-call on Jones could have easily affected the overall outcome of the game, it was the two phantom penalties on defensive end Trey Flowers that ultimately proved to be the deciding factor in the 23-22 loss.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding the referees' willingness to overturn calls that they initially got wrong which has discouraged teams from challenging due to the risks involved during such a close game. NFL owners are set to meet heading into Week 7 and the recent backlash will surely be a topic of debate.
