Liverpool was two goals to the good within the first 25 minutes on Saturday against Brighton, but the Reds proceeded to collapse and allow the Seagulls to find their way right back into the fixture in a dismal 2-2 draw.

By no surprise, manager Jurgen Klopp was not pleased with the performance and fired a stern warning at the Liverpool players for their dreadful second half. Via TheScore:

“In the second half, we were not good enough. The body language I didn't like it all,” Klopp said.

“It was like, ‘Oh my God, it's really tough'. Yeah, it was clear before the game.

“The best way to defend Brighton is to have the ball and play in the spaces where they are exposed, but we didn't do that and that's a problem.”

Jordan Henderson bagged an opener in the 4th minute, followed by a Sadio Mane goal just 20 minutes later. While they did concede twice, Liverpool did dominate possession and Mo Salah even scored two breathtaking goals, but both were ruled out because of an offside and handball call. That frustrated Klopp even more:

“It feels like a defeat, not only because we were 2-0 up and didn't win. It's because we scored two of the most beautiful goals I've ever seen us score, which were disallowed,” added Klopp.

Considering Liverpool just dismantled Manchester United 5-0 last weekend, this result is far from ideal. However, the side is still in second spot and just three points behind league-leaders Chelsea. Next up is a Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid mid-week, followed by a big game against West Ham next Sunday.
