Arch Manning was destined to be a popular name in the football world despite his 2023 class ranking. The relation to Eli and Peyton Manning automatically makes him stand out as a quarterback. However, he has lived up to the name so far in his young football career and recently committed to Texas. According to 247Sports recent updated rankings, Arch Manning is still listed at No. 1 overall for the 2023 class.

The 247Sports scouting report shared the following assessment of Manning

“Possesses an ideal frame at 6-foot-4 and 215-pounds and growth potential to add additional 10 to 15-pounds to his frame at the next level. Displays above average athleticism and adequate mobility as a runner, increasing his rushing totals every season over the last three years.”

In addition to his scrambling prowess, the scouting report stated that Manning features impressive pocket awareness. This is crucial for young QB’s. There are plenty of extremely talented young quarterbacks with big arms that have limited pocket awareness. As a result, they are fumble and sack-prone due to their inability to feel pressure.

So the pocket awareness stands out for Arch Manning as a high schooler without question.

The report also broke down his overall passing ability.

“Displays excellent arm talent, showing the ability to make every throw on the field within the pocket. Shows the ability to drive the ball down the field and play with velocity. Excels as an intermediate passer, displaying the ability to consistently deliver the ball accurately and on time while playing with anticipation. Throws an exceptional deep ball, flashing outstanding touch and ball placement allowing him to throw his receivers open.”

The Texas commit seems to have a very bright future.
