Big Baller Brand’s ZO2's made a lot of negative headlines after its release, especially with the $495 retail price the company placed on it. However, they might be able to sell more pairs following the selection of Lonzo Ball as the second overall pick of this year’s draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.

The former UCLA guard did not waste any time to market his first signature shoes, as he already debuted its latest colorway, called “Sho’time,” which is a very fitting now that he’s slated to wear the Purple and Gold jersey.

The Ball family received a lot of criticism and even trolls on social media as many believed the kicks are overpriced, given that Lonzo has yet to play a game in the NBA. LaVar Ball stuck with their decision though, as he said those who cannot afford them are not true “big ballers.”

It remains to be seen if its sales will pick up after the announcement of the Lakers choosing Lonzo in the draft. With the following and popularity of the team though, it could be what BBB needs to sell more of them, and even take their brand to prominence.
