With the NFL offseason in full swing, teams around the league are doing their best to improve their rosters. Some are faring better than others, as there have been some solid and questionable signings so far during free agency. However, the Los Angeles Chargers have done a great job so far, making the offensive line a priority to protect Justin Herbert.

There are still some holes left on the roster, but they're shaping up nicely to be a competitive team next year. Most of the big-name targets are gone in the free-agent market, but there is one player that sticks out as a potential signing for the bolts. They have a weak secondary and have a chance to bring in a solid cornerback before the draft.

From there, most of the big acquisitions will be from the NFL draft. In the first round, Los Angeles has an opportunity to select a generational talent. Kyle Pitts might not fall to 13th overall, however, the Chargers could trade up for him if they don't think he'll fall to 13th in the draft.

The draft is stacked with talented cornerbacks in the first two rounds, and the Chargers could ensure an elite secondary by taking one of them. With the 47th pick in the second round, Los Angeles has a chance to take one of the best defensive prospects available this year.

Moving onto round three, it's possible the Chargers' aim to strengthen the offensive line even more. After signing Bryan Bulaga last year, then bringing in Corey Linsley this offseason, it'd be wise to find a prospect for the interior offensive line. This would be a smart pick that could have major implications for the future of this franchise. Here are four bold predictions for the Los Angeles Chargers 2021 offseason.

Los Angeles Chargers Bold Prediction: Sign Kyle Fuller

Los Angeles Chargers 2021 offseason

The Chicago Bears recently released their star cornerback, Kyler Fuller, making him a free agent this offseason. He's one of the most consistent corners in the league and would be a fantastic addition to the secondary. Fuller finished last season with 65 total tackles, eight pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one interception.

With Chris Harris Jr. not getting any younger, signing Kyle Fuller gives the Chargers a solid corner in his prime. Signing him to a two-year deal would be an ideal situation, considering the strange cap situation NFL teams are working with this year. Fuller would give the Broncos the secondary they need to compete in the AFC West next year.

Los Angeles Chargers Bold Prediction: Draft Kyle Pitts

Kyle Pitts is possibly the best tight end prospect we've ever seen. He's arguably the best pass catcher in the draft and has the size, speed, and strength to be a mismatch against everyone who guards him. The Florida prospect finished his final year for the Florida Gators with 43 receptions, 770 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

Los Angeles just signed Jared Cook, but the front office shouldn't let that deter them away from Pitts. Cook is 33 years old, which means he's not going to be playing much longer in the NFL. Drafting Pitts now would give him a solid mentor to learn from while he's starting his NFL career. It typically takes a couple of years for tight ends to get adjusted to the professional level, so this could be the best team for his career. Besides, can you imagine Justin Herbert and Kyle Pitts connecting every week?

Los Angeles Chargers Bold Prediction: Draft Ifeatu Melifonwu

Los Angeles Chargers 2021 offseason

As I mentioned before, Chris Harris Jr. isn't getting any younger. However, he's still a solid corner that has one or two years left. Even if the Chargers do sign Kyle Fuller, the front office should highly consider finding a prospect cornerback in the draft. Ifeatu Melifonwu out of Syracuse would be a solid rookie for them to take. He finished last season with 54 total tackles, six pass deflections, one sack, and one interception.

Melifonwu has the potential to be a slot corner until he's ready to take over on the outside. He'd be a great fit for the Chargers' defense, while also providing depth. His youth is the most important part to take note of, as Los Angeles would look to him to possibly become a starter in 2022.

Los Angeles Chargers Bold Prediction: Draft: Deonte Brown

Protecting Justin Herbert has been the top priority so far in free agency, which makes sense as he looks like he's the real deal. He has a veteran offensive line protecting him, but the roster still needs some youth and depth on the offensive line. Deonte Brown out of Alabam could be a fantastic acquisition for this Chargers' team.

Brown played 48 games during his collegiate career for the Crimson Tide. He's also been consistent while out on the field. He's a tad raw with his skillset at the moment, but with proper development, Brown has the tools necessary to become a consistent guard for the Los Angeles Chargers for years.
