The Los Angeles Chargers have a tough matchup on Sunday as they face off against the Kansas City Chiefs. LA is currently 1-1 and a win on Sunday could give them an early lead over Kansas City in the AFC West. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Chargers Week 3 prediction.

This contest is going to be chock full of offensive firepower. Los Angeles will need their stars to shine in this one if they hope to come out with a victory. This matchup has the makings to be a high-scoring affair that goes down to the wire.

The Chiefs' defense isn't the best by any means, so there is a realistic chance the Chargers straight up outscore Kansas City. To do so, we should see Austin Ekeler active and serve as one of the main focal points of the Chargers' offense.

Additionally, Keenan Allen will likely be featured as Justin Herbert's favorite target. He had a rough game against the Dallas Cowboys, but Herbert should be in for a big game. With that said, here are four bold Chargers Week 4 predictions against the Chiefs.

Chargers Week 3 Predictions

4. Austin Ekeler racks up 150+ total yards from scrimmage

Austin Ekeler has been busy to kick off the 2021 season and that shouldn't change on Sunday. He's playing like a true elite running back right now who is heavily involved in the passing game. The Chiefs' defense has struggled to slow down the run so far, so we should see Ekeler thrive in this matchup.

3. Keenan Allen reels in 125+ yards and 2 touchdowns

The talk of the town has been Mike Williams as he's emerged as a top wideout this year. It's left many forgetting about Keenan Allen altogether. Even so, Allen is still the best receiver on the Chargers and we should see that on Sunday. He's one of the best route runners in the league. Expect Keenan Allen to reel in multiple touchdowns and have a huge day for Los Angeles.

2. Justin Herbert throws for 350+ yards and 3 touchdowns

If Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen go bonkers, that likely means Justin Herbert is having a field day. He took the league by storm his rookie year, winning the Rookie of the Year in impressive fashion. Things haven't quite gone his way this season so far. However, that can all change in this game against the Chiefs. Look for Herbert to lead the Chargers and have a massive day.

1. Chargers upset the Chiefs and win the game

Nearly everyone believes the Kansas City Chiefs are essentially unbeatable. However, the Baltimore Ravens proved otherwise in Week 2. The Chiefs' defense has looked like a liability so far. Both the Cleveland Browns and Ravens have looked great against them. There's no reason to believe the Chargers can't do the same.

With Herbert under center and a plethora of weapons at his disposal, this is a very winnable game for the Chargers. Of course, it's a tall task to accomplish when facing Patrick Mahomes. This game has the makings to be one of the best of the year. We should expect this game to be high-scoring and close throughout. If LA can make a few defensive stops, they should be able to pull off the upset.
