Despite having the most electric college quarterback since Michael Vick, the Louisville Cardinals already have two losses to their record this season. In a roundabout way, with the FBI probe looming over the basketball program, this could spell doom for Bobby Petrino.

Thing is, just not in the way some are thinking about it.

Bobby Petrino, as you might know, has his own iffy history behind him. Having been caught committing adultery by way of a motorcycle accident, then going to a presser with a neck brace on and looking all kinds of pink, he's also been on the wrong end of many jokes.

Also, you know, he left the Atlanta Falcons in rather awful fashion.

Anyway, North Carolina State defeated Louisville 39-25 on Thursday evening. There's really no shame in losing to a conference foe, even if it isn't exactly a future national title contender. However, that is where Petrino's issues rest, as his team was expected to be near the battle for a spot in the College Football Playoff. As it stands now, the Cardinals will be lucky to get a decent bowl invite.

To his credit, Petrino took all the blame after the loss.

“We've got a lot of work to do,” Cardinals coach Bobby Petrino said. “I'm not getting it done. I've got to do a better job with our coaches, do a better job with our players and get back on the right track.”

Still, failing with Lamar Jackson behind center is a really awful indictment of Petrino as a coach. With Jackson's eyes likely set on an NFL career, look for our friend to get out of dodge before dodge gets him.
