After mulling his decision over the past couple of weeks, Damian Lillard has decided to decline his invitation to play in the Olympic games in Rio, due to plantar faciitis.

According to The Vertical's Woj, that decision opened a spot for another invitation which went to the Raptors guard Kyle Lowry who gladly accepted and will be in uniform this summer.

Lowry wasn't initially on the roster pool of 31 players to be selected, but there has been such a huge number of drop offs, that Team USA has had to dig deeper to add talent strong enough to compete with the worlds best.

Lowry will be joining wingman teammate DeMar Derozan who also accepted an invitation recently, and they are ready to compete for their country.

USA basketball will officially announce it's 12 man roster that will play in Rio, Brazil next week.
