Not everything is good news for the Houston Rockets. While it seems that the team is incapable of doing wrong and invincible to bad breaks, they have at least one concern to deal with in the form of Luc Mbah a Moute’s health. According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, Mbah a Moute is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his shoulder this Wednesday.

Mbah a Moute hurt his shoulder on Tuesday while rising for a dunk in a road game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Mbah a Moute exited the game and did not return, chipping in just two points and two rebounds along with a solitary steal in only eight minutes of action. The Rockets did not really need him to beat the Lakers, though, as Houston got tremendous numbers from Chris Paul and James Harden, who combined for 43 points and 16 assists in a 105-99 victory.

Should Mbah a Moute miss any time to recover, the Rockets still have good depth in their forward position to weather his absence. Trevor Ariza, PJ Tucker, and Joe Johnson could all fill in his void. Apart from Mbah a Moute, the Rockets also have Ryan Anderson on the shelf due to an ankle injury, though he is probably only being kept out to risk him from getting hurt again in meaningless late-season contests.

Assuming that Luc Mbah a Moute would miss Wednesday’s season finale against the Sacramento Kings, the 31-year-old veteran would finish the 2017-18 season with averages of 7.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 25.6 minutes per game.
