Genuine friendships are something that is quite hard to find throughout the league. However, connections like the one shared by Luka Doncic and DeAndre Jordan is something hard to destroy. Even if the two of them were playing for opposite sides when the Dallas Mavericks took on the Brooklyn Nets.
The Mavericks won the game as the Nets were playing without both of their star players. With all of the eyes trained on Luka Doncic the entire game, the Slovenian superstar dominated. However, one of the most eye-catching moments happened after.
Luka Doncic and Jordan immediately looked for each other after the final buzzer sounded on the Mavericks' 123-111 triumph over the visiting Nets. They didn't hesitate and immediately exchanged jerseys to make one of the most wholesome images in the league.
It's definitely surprising for Jordan to show that much synergy with a point guard after his days with the Los Angeles Clippers. His level of connection with Chris Paul was something that can be felt in the way they played, and it was definitely felt during the short time they were together.
It can be said that Jordan enjoyed playing with Luka Doncic even if he was shipped to the New York Knicks for Kristaps Porzingis.
Moreover, Jordan gave this high praise for the Wonder Boy:
“I love Luka Doncic. Luka is great, he is a big guard score at all three levels of the court. He is a hell of a passer and I had an opportunity to play with him, which was great. So, I think both of those guys are great and are going to be great future players and I’m sure they will be all-stars at some point,” said Jordan, per Heavy's Landon Buford.
