The Golden State Warriors can be a pretty cruel team at times.

Outside of the fact that they were the most dominant regular season of all time, they can play some pretty mean pranks. Take for example, the prank played on assistant coach Luke Walton prior to the NBA draft lottery. For those that have been living under a shelter for the past month, Walton was announced as the new Los Angeles Lakers head coach a few weeks ago.

The NBA draft lottery was kind of a big deal for the Lakers because if their pick landed outside of the top three, it would have automatically been given to the Philadelphia 76ers. As expected, Warriors vice president of public relations Raymond Ridder told Walton the worst possible news—even if it wasn't true.

Walton can sleep peacefully tonight as the Lakers actually got the No. 2 overall pick.

Considering the new head coach fell for it though, you have to give props to Ridder for the timely prank.
