On Wednesday, EA Sports revealed the iconic cover of Madden 23, featuring the coach himself. The game will also include multiple other tributes to Madden throughout, even incorporating the legendary coach and broadcaster's voice through remastered audio clips.

Along with these special game updates to honor the late NFL icon, Madden 23 includes a lot of other updates to improve gameplay.

One of the biggest changes to the game is the brand new FieldSENSE Gameplay System. This is the base behind Madden 23's consistent and ultra-realistic gameplay. It also grants players more control over all positions in every mode. This includes Hit Everything mechanics, Skill-Based Passing, 360° Cuts, and Wide Receiver vs Defensive Back Battles. FieldSENSE is only available on Playstation®5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Madden 23.

The team at EA Sports based a lot of game changes on the feedback from its customers. That being said, Madden 23 features Foundational Football to give players a more balanced and more authentic gameplay experience. It focuses on three defensive fundamentals: pass coverage, pass rush, and QB Contain.

A fan favorite, Franchise Mode also has updates in the latest version of Madden. These include Free Agency and Contract enhancements, the Hub, Trade Logic, and Scouting improvements.
