Following the news that came out about Charles Oakley filing a civil lawsuit against Madison Square Garden, it was now its management’s time to issue a statement regarding it.

MSG recently made it known, via Ian Begley of ESPN, that it thinks of it as a frivolous move on the part of the former New York Knicks player, to draw attention to himself. It also added that it’ll be ready to face it, even if it means they meet in court.

“This is a frivolous lawsuit and nothing more than another attempt by Mr. Oakley to garner attention. We will deal with this accordingly.”

The lawsuit stems from the incident that occurred back in February, when Oakley was forced to leave his seat while watching a Knicks home game, after he was involved in an altercation. He was escorted by security personnel, and was then banned for life in the venue for his actions.

It remains to be seen which side will win the lawsuit, but it is expected to continue to be a much talked about topic in the coming months, especially with the incident already drawing a lot of interest from the public eye since it happened. Madison Square Garden is also one of the most famous arenas in the world, and is located in New York, which adds to the appeal of the story.
