Despite being only 19 years old, there’s already a lot of pressure on the young shoulders of Lonzo Ball. He was a highly touted rookie out of UCLA and was selected second overall in last month’s draft by one of the league’s most storied franchises, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Instead of lowering the expectations on him, Magic Johnson continues to put added pressure on Ball for him to live up to the hype. The Lakers' executive even went as far as saying that he expects the rookie point guard to break some of his records and that great players want to be depended on heavily, which could motivate Ball to play even better once the regular season starts.

The newly-named MVP of the Summer League has started his professional career on a high note, impressing a lot of people in the tournament the Lakers won on Monday. He showcased his stellar all-around game, which has given the team’s fans plenty of optimism about their future.

If Ball won't succumb to the pressure and instead be inspired by Johnson’s motivation, he could turn out to be one of the Lakers’ all-time greats when it's all said and done. He does have the skillset and physical attributes to be successful, and it will just be a matter of how fast he learns the ins and outs of the league, in order for him to establish himself as a future star in the NBA.
