Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon was in San Jose on Wednesday to show his support to the San Jose Sharks, who are currently behind their Western Conference semifinals series with the Vegas Knights, two games to one.

Gordon got the honor of opening the door for the Sharks in Game 4 of the series at SAP Center, which came two days after San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo did the same in Game 3.

Aaron Gordon is hoping that this time, there will be a different result for San Jose, as Garoppolo’s presence in the last game was not enough to inspire San Jose, who lost to the Knights in Game 3 in overtime, 4-3.

While Gordon represents Orlando in the NBA, he is a native of San Jose. Meaning, basically, his hockey allegiance unquestionably belongs to the Sharks, who could probably use Gordon’s size in their blue line, as Vegas has just been relentless on the attack in their Stanley Cup Playoffs series.

Gordon, still only 22, is a pending restricted free agent this coming summer. He is coming off a season in which he averaged career highs in points (17.6), rebounds (7.9), and assists (2.3), though, he only played in 58 games.

The Magic have not made the postseason in any of Gordon's first four seasons in the NBA. It will obviously be interesting to see what the future holds for both the NBA franchise as well as the talented young man.
