Despite no longer showing concussion symptoms, Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon remains in the NBA concussion protocol and will miss Wednesday night’s game against the L.A. Clippers, per the Orlando Sentinel’s Josh Robbins.

Gordon, who is averaging a team-leading 18.5 points per game this season, suffered the concussion in the Magic's loss to the Denver Nuggets on Dec. 8. He then missed the Magic’s most recent game the following night, a 117-110 defeat to the Atlanta Hawks.

Mario Hezonja got the start in place of Gordon, posting seven points and six rebounds in 31 minutes of action. Nikola Vucevic had a triple-double with 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Jonathon Simmons added a career-high 27 points, seven boards, and five assists.

Apart from Gordon, fellow starters Evan Fournier and Terrence Ross, as well as rookie Jonathan Isaac, are also on the Magic’s long list of absentees. With all the injuries they’re dealing with at the moment, the Magic have dropped three of their last four games.

Orlando will look to bounce back at home against a resurgent Clippers team which has won back-to-back games against the Washington Wizards and the Toronto Raptors.

As for Gordon, his next opportunity to return to the Magic lineup will be on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
