Orlando Magic small forward Aaron Gordon will not play on Wednesday against the Washington Wizards.

Gordon is dealing with a sore left Achilles.

Aaron Gordon didn't play on Monday versus the Atlanta Hawks either. The Magic are 14-19 on the season. They are in 8th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

In 29 games this season for the Magic, Gordon is averaging 13.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists. The high-flyer is shooting 40.4 percent from the field, 29.2 percent from beyond the arc and 70.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Magic are trying to make the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Orlando made the postseason in 2018-19 for the first time since the final season of the Dwight Howard era. The Magic lost to the Toronto Raptors in the first round in five games.

For Orlando to make the playoffs again, Gordon has to get healthy. The Magic will ultimately go as far as All-Star center Nikola Vucevic can take them. He's putting up 18.1 points and 10.6 rebounds this season in 22 games and shooting 45.8 percent from the floor, 34.4 percent from the 3-point line and 78.5 percent from the charity stripe.

The Magic will clearly be careful with Gordon moving forward since Achilles injuries are never to be taken lightly. Orlando plays again on Friday against the Miami Heat. We'll see if Gordon suits up for that one.
