Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon is active against the Miami Heat on Friday night in their Florida State clash after missing the last two games.

The 24-year-old big man was sidelined with a sore left Achilles against the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards. Luckily for the Magic, he recovered in time and will start against the Heat.

Gordon is averaging 13.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game this 2019-20 season, shooting 40.4 percent from the field, 29.2 percent from 3-point range and 70.3 percent from the free throw line.

His reactivation is good timing for the Magic after a devastating injury occurred this week when third-year forward Jonathan Isaac hyperextended his left knee. The 22-year-old Isaac was diagnosed with a severe sprain and bone contusion in the knee and will be out for two months, hurting Orlando's chances to reach the playoffs again in 2020 after losing in the first round last year.

Earlier this week Gordon targeted Thursday as a day to get back on the court in practice.

“I think [Thursday] we’re gonna get back on the court and it’s feeling a lot better,” Aaron Gordon said, per John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com. [Athletic trainer/manual therapist] Aki [Tajima] has been doing a great job with [the Achilles], getting the swelling down.”

Last week, though, the former fourth-overall pick of the 2014 draft admitted to taking little caution in playing on his hurt Achilles.

“I feel like I might have been playing on it a little too long already. So now’s the time I’ve got to get it taken care of, just so I can get healthy and get back and help my team because it’s not something you want to play [around] with.”
