NBA TV analyst Greg Anthony was one proud papa on Wednesday after witnessing his son, Cole Antony, drain the first game-winning shot of his NBA career. The promising rookie delivered a 3-point dagger to give the Orlando Magic a 97-96 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, putting an end to his team's six-game skid.

The elder Anthony, who was inside the NBA TV studio during the game, couldn't hide his excitement afterward. He joined his colleagues Jared Greenberg, Isiah Thomas and Dennis Scott post-game and had nothing but praises for his eldest son.

“It's was awesome to see that. The team needed it. Just to see the reaction from the guys in a game where they did not look good for three quarters. To be able to come back and get that win, I'm just so happy for him and them.”

Here's Greg Anthony's full statement about his son's heroic performance for the Magic.

Before becoming a regular fixture for NBA TV, Greg Anthony suited up for 11 seasons in the league and played the same position as his son. As much as he wanted to remain neutral during the broadcast, it was evident that the proud father was extremely happy for his kid's success. Cole, meanwhile, has also paid homage to his old man by rocking his signature no.50 jersey for the Magic.

Cole Anthony is expected to get an even bigger role for the Magic in his first year following the season-ending ACL injury sustained by Markelle Fultz. His performance has been solid so far, averaging 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists prior to the game against Minnesota.
