Only three things are certain in the NBA: 1. LeBron James, 2. Kevin Durant has a burner Twitter account, and 3. Rookies will always get embarrassed by their veteran teammates. Just ask Orlando Magic newcomers Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner.

The latest additions to the Magic roster will soon experience their dreaded rookie hazing courtesy of Robin Lopez. The journeyman center, who was also acquired by the Magic in the offseason, hilariously revealed on Twitter on Tuesday the extreme punishment Suggs and Wagner will have to go through under his watch.

“I've decided to haze the Magic rookies by making them get me the newest issues of National Geographic, Popular Science, and The New Yorker when they come out and we're going to have a little magazine club and talk about what we've read. It will be delightful and you can't join.”

Let's just say it's very, um, Robin Lopez-y.

The 33-year-old Lopez has always been eccentric characters. He is a self-confessed geek and reading the New Yorker, National Geographic, and Popular Science is right up his alley. Now, the Magic neophytes will witness it first-hand. Suggs and Wagner need to brush up on a wide range of topics real soon.

Lopez is expected to play a pivotal role for the Magic, who will field a very young roster featuring a core of Suggs, Cole Anthony, RJ Hampton, and Wendell Carter Jr. Key pieces in Jonathan Isaac and Markelle Fultz are still sidelined, but they're also relatively young guns as well.

So Lopez, entering his 14th season, will have to make the Magic rookies play hard—with or without reading materials.
