Orlando Magic shooting guard Jonathon Simmons appears to be a pretty big football fan.

Sometime after the Magic won Sunday over the Boston Celtics, the New England Patriots came back from a deficit and defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars for a chance to win yet another Super Bowl. Simmons wasted no time in giving his prediction on whether or not the Patriots will win.

The Patriots will play the Philadelphia Eagles for the Super Bowl championship.

Simmons was born in Houston, but it doesn't look as though he's a fan of the Houston Texans. Perhaps he likes the Patriots as well, and since that team is going to the championship, he gets to root for them, too.

NBA players oftentimes have allegiances to other sports, which makes them more fun to follow. Players like to post on social media about their favorite teams, and it gives fans a good window into the interests of players that have nothing to do with basketball.

The question now is how big of a fan is Simmons of the Patriots? He used the hashtag “Patriotsnation,” but does he ride or die with them? Will he paint his face when he goes to a game? He's had to have seen them play live at least once, right?

The game between the Patriots and Eagles is on Feb. 4, just one week away. The Magic don't have a game that day. So it stands to reason that Simmons will be watching his team vie for a ring, and he'll probably be tweeting a lot more.
