On Tuesday's win over the Washington Wizards, Markelle Fultz of the Orlando Magic dropped a career-high.

Fultz finished with a total of 20 points on 9-of-16 from the field. He also had six assists and three rebounds in 31 minutes of action. More importantly, they got the win over the Wizards, 127-120.

It's been a good year thus far for the former first overall pick. He's averaging 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.3 steals across 25.2 minutes. He's also shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free-throw line. Fultz has also been inserted into the Magic's starting five which — a clear indication of the head coach's confidence in him.

While Fultz's numbers don't scream at you, fans still pleased with how he's performing. Not too long ago, Fultz was sidelined due to scapular muscle imbalance in his right shoulder and Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Critics hurled the word ‘bust' at him. After all, when you're the first overall pick of the draft, people expect you to carry a franchise sooner or later. But amid all the criticisms he received, Fultz shared that he never lost hope in himself.

“It was definitely hard,” Fultz told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports recently. “I questioned why stuff was happening to me. But I never doubted myself. I knew I had an injury, and I knew my abilities even when I couldn’t shoot the ball.”

Perhaps Fultz's career-night will boost his confidence a little further.
