The Orlando Magic made a minor tweak on their roster by signing free-agent forward Devin Davis and cutting Gabe York, according to an announcement made by the team.

It’s just a training camp contract for Davis, so he isn’t guaranteed a spot on the team’s final roster. Nevertheless, this brings Davis closer to his dream of breaking into the big league after playing three years in college as a member of the Indiana Hoosiers in the 2013-14 season before transferring to the Houston Cougars, with whom he spent two years.

In his final collegiate year, Davis put up 10.9 points, grabbed 6.3 rebounds, and swatted away 0.7 blocks across 35 games as part of the Cougars squad that made it to the NCAA Tournament and even went as deep as the second round of the Big Dance. In his last game for the Cougars, he battled with Moritz Wagner and the Michigan Wolverines and produced 17 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks in a 64-63 loss.

York, on the other hand, is a product of the Arizona Wildcats program. He played four years under head coach Sean Miller and reached his peak in his senior year in Tucson in which he notched 15.0 points per game. He went unselected in the 2016 NBA Draft but had stints abroad and in the NBA D-League.
