The Orlando Magic officially released a first look at their new uniforms for the 2020-21 season, and fans have mixed reactions to the “City” edition.

Orlando is swapping out its traditional blue, white and black schemes for an orange color scheme, which is meant to represent the “sunshine state,” per the team's website:

The pinstripes and star pay homage to cherished symbols of the Magic's past while incorporating the color orange to create a vibrant and inspirational theme representing the bright future of tomorrow in a bold new design.

The orange color was unveiled in the team's first City Edition uniform last season to represent what Orlando is famous for – sunshine and citrus. From its very early beginnings, orange has been a part of Orlando – from sunshine, to orange groves to Orange County to Orange Ave., it’s the color thread that intertwines the fabric of this city, its people and this team.

Some fans seem to appreciate the new look as a breath of fresh air.

Others are not quite as pleased by the change, with one such user quipping the team might as well be advertising for a brand of orange juice.

More still would actually have preferred the team reverting to the classic pinstripe look seen in the 90s.

Of course, the Magic have far greater concerns than a change in uniform.

Orlando made it to the playoffs this season only to lose to the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in five games. There are also questions as to whether the team will deal Aaron Gordon, not to mention the fact Jonathan Isaac is expected to miss the entirety of the 2020-21 season due to a knee injury suffered in the bubble.

Orlando Magic fans are hoping the team's performance on the floor exceeds the exceptionally mixed reactions to the new uniforms.
