For Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey, Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic reminds him of a young Blake Griffin.

Per Ron Beard of The Detroit News:

It's a pretty accurate observation. Both Gordon and Griffin have similar playstyles, body types, and athleticism. While they just below seven feet and weigh between 220-250 lbs, they can jump out of the rafters as if they're high-flying guards. The two were participants in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Griffin was crowned champion in 2011, while Gordon almost bagged the trophy in 2016.

Perhaps the main difference between them is that as early as now, the Magic talent is already developing an outside touch. A look at the statistics reveals that the 23-year-old is shooting 38.2 percent from 3-point country on 4.3 attempts per game. Last season, he made 2 3-pointers per game on 5.9 attempts.

Griffin, for his part, only added the 3-pointer to his arsenal in his last season with the LA Clippers up until now. This season, he's shooting at 36.3 percent. He makes at least 2.3 a game on 6.4 attempts.

At the end of the day, the two are different players with different approaches to the game. But it's always fun to look at two players who are seemingly carbon copies of one another.
