We might have to wait a few more weeks before we get to see Markelle Fultz back on the court. The 2017 first overall pick missed Orlando Magic's first scrimmage against the Los Angeles Clippers last Wednesday and per head coach Steve Clifford, the point guard is still not ready to suit up.

“He’s just not ready physically to do that. Again, these guys missed so much time and they weren't able to be in a gym. For Markelle, it’s just the situation that he was in.” Clifford said (per orlandosentinel.com). “So right now he's not at a conditioning level where we're comfortable that he could get out there and play in a scrimmage nor 5-on-5 in practice.”

Markelle Fultz was a late addition to the team. He was only able to join the Magic's practice late last week due to family matters. But with his infamous shoulder injury for the past few years, the Magic are taking easing him back to the rotation and will not rush him at all.

The Washington Huskies stand out had a tough first two years in the league as the Philadelphia 76ers' lottery pick back in 2017. Fultz was only able to play in 33 games in two seasons in Philly and was looking like another bust. On his first year in Orlando though, Fultz was able to turn the tide and show signs of improvement – averaging 12.1 ppg, 5.2 apg and 28 minutes per game in 64 games as a Magic mainstay.

With Fultz possibly ruled out for Orlando's last scrimmage against the Lakers this weekend, look for veteran point guard D.J Augustin and Michael Carter-Williams to spearhead play-calling duties for the Magic.
