The Orlando Magic and the Toronto Raptors have been frequent business partners as of late, but they won't be trading with each other until the end of the 2017-18 season.

Given the provision in their most recent transaction between the Toronto-Orlando deal that sent Jeff Weltman to the Magic's front office, these two teams are restricted to having no more trades until an entire NBA season has passed, according to a report by Shams Charania of The Vertical.

This provision isn't a unique one, per Charania, but rather an often common one applying to all front office transactions which imply a compensation in return.

The acquisition of Weltman was actually the fourth employee swap between these two teams in the past 10 months.

The Magic have been avid fans of the Raptors roster as well as the staff, getting Bismack Biyombo last offseason after a key role in the postseason in the absence of Jonas Valanciunas.

The Raptors returned the courtesy, acquiring Serge Ibaka from them prior to the trade deadline in exchange for high-flying wing Terrence Ross.

Both of these teams will have to look for other business partners in the near future as they look to change the scope of their organization this offseason.
