The Orlando Magic are reportedly interested in signing Boston Celtics guard Terry Rozier and Brooklyn Nets point guard D’Angelo Russell during the 2019 free agency period.

Both Terry Rozier and D’Angelo Russell will become restricted free agents after this season ends, meaning if either player signs an offer sheet with another team, their respective team can match it and retain them.

According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, the Magic are serious in their pursuit of the two young players.

The Magic, according to sources, have started doing due diligence on some of the notable would-be free agent point guards, and they do have eyes for both Boston’s Terry Rozier and Brooklyn’s D’Angelo Russell. Rozier is considered the top option, but there is expected to be significant demand for Rozier, if and when he hits free agency.

Rozier's future in Boston is murky since starting point guard Kyrie Irving said he plans to re-sign with the Celtics in the offseason. Rozier has been very open about how he wants to be a starting point guard in the NBA.

The 24-year-old is averaging 8.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season. He is shooting 38.5 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line for the Celtics.

Russell, on the other hand, is having a solid year as the starting point guard for the Nets. But with Brooklyn recently extending his backup, Spencer Dinwiddie, some believe the team might let Russell walk in the summer if he gets an offer sheet that is out of their price range.

Russell is averaging 18.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game while shooting 42.2 percent from the floor, 36.5 percent from the 3-point line and 75.4 percent from the charity stripe.
