The Orlando Magic are one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA. They are 14th in the Eastern Conference, and they have lost nine of their last 10 games. The Magic haven't seen the playoffs since the 2011-12 NBA season. Their rebuilding efforts have been questionable, and the team apparently has no viable direction for the future. The Magic are still engaged in a total rebuilding effort, and it may involve moving their big man, Bismack Biyombo before the trade deadline, according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders.

“The prevailing thought around the Magic is that forward Aaron Gordon is going to be retained this summer and that deals involving him would have to return a proven All-Star. That doesn’t seem to be in the cards. The dream scenario would be to offload the contract of Bismack Biyombo, but no one is taking that contract off the Magic’s hands.”

In 2016, Biyombo signed a 4-year $72 million deal with the Magic, even though the franchise already had Serge Ibaka at the starting power forward position and Aaron Gordon as a budding NBA star. Needless to say, Biyombo's tenure with the Magic has been disappointing. Biyombo is currently averaging 4.7 points and 5.3 rebounds a game in 17 minutes a night. The Magic are in a difficult position because no team is likely to trade for Biyombo's enormous contract any time soon.

The Magic are losing at a demoralizing rate, and it's clear that the team is not improving. With Nikola Vucevic out with a hand injury for at least six weeks, Biyombo will have to take over as the starting center. However, many statistics prove that he is unsuitable to help the Magic win any games this season.

Now that 2018 has approached, the trade market is fluctuating constantly, with many front offices trying to gain pieces that will help their team win. It is unlikely that Biyombo is on any team's radar at the moment, so the Magic just may be stuck with him at least until the season ends.
