Many have chimed in to the potential trade of Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving.

Now, Denver Nuggets soon-to-be second-year shooting guard Malik Beasley has given his thoughts on the possibility.

“I am kind of surprised,” Beasley told Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype about Irving's initial trade request.

Yet, with two thirds of the league inquiring with the Cavs about potential trade opportunities, the Nuggets could also be a team interested in his services.

Having had a shaky rotation at the point guard position with Emmanuel Mudiay, Jamal Murray, and Jameer Nelson, a perennial All-Star like Irving could have a massive effect into this re-tooled franchise.

“Oh, definitely leadership,” said Beasley of the traits a player like Irving would bring to Denver. “He's won a championship already and been to the playoffs. He just has that extra dog, that extra grind that an All-Star brings to a team.”

“I know for sure he can lead a team.”

The prospect of having Irving alongside Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic constitutes a near-perfect balance of youth and experience, and with a team of great-passing big men, it wouldn't be a terrible thing to have Irving fill up the box score on a nightly basis.
