Kentucky freshman shooting guard Malik Monk had one of the greatest shooting displays from beyond the arc, impressing the Phoenix Suns during his workout on Tuesday.

“He had one of the best shooting performances we've seen from deep with a workout over the past few years,” Suns assistant general manager Pat Connelly said following the player interviews.

This isn't the first time Monk has impressed with his diverse offensive arsenal, posting 18 games of 20 points or more and four games of 30-plus points including a Kentucky freshman-record 47 points in a win over eventual NCAA champion North Carolina in December.

An Arkansas native, Monk scored 30 points in a single half twice during his impressive freshman season under John Calipari, averaging 19.8 points and 39.7 percent from deep, along with a formidable 82.2 percent from the stripe.

He won the Jerry West Award as the best shooting guard in the nation, burying a total of 104 three-pointers — the third-highest single-season total in Kentucky history, behind former standouts Jamal Murray (2015-16) and Jodie Meeks (2008-09).

The Suns own the No. 4 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and have been interested in Monk just as much as the New York Knicks, who possess the rights to the No. 8 overall selection. He is slated to go between picks 6-to-10, according to the latest DraftExpress mock draft.
